Working on a deal where buyer's side keeps on insisting on a POA to effectuate all actions of Seller under the agreement, including executing documents. I keep striking this and commenting that this is not standard. Has anyone dealt with this? I am okay with a limited POA based on the industry of the Seller, but not this general POA.

Hey fishes. Just got a mail from Deloitte that the lease for my Laptop has expired and I have to visit the nearest Deloitte office to replace it. My base location is in Gurgaon but my nearest office is in Kolkata and currently I am at my home. Can I get it replaced from Kolkata office? And what is the general time frame for replacement. I am in a bit of a good/bad spot. I have worked at Salesforce for close to a year as a consultant. They want to bring back travel to 50%+ post Covid and I am not feeling that motivated to be away from my family that often. I have an opportunity to join a startup as a Sr. PM likely making the same or a tiny bit less. But no travel and not consulting. All internal project. I don’t know what else I should be looking at. It's an exhausting time to be working in this industry, to say the least. How do you prevent taking your work home with you?

I am a personal injury defense attorney and I’ve never done plaintiff’s work. I have a case where I suspect the plaintiff is malingering and exaggerating his injuries. The plaintiffs attorney has sent me multiple demands for $3 million dollars and basically begged me to respond with some offer. I’ve told him the truth - my client has no interest in trying to settle if his demand remains about twenty times higher than the actual worst case (for us) jury verdict. More in comments...
