I applied a little over 3 weeks ago to a company that I really like and would love to work for. A few days later I received an email from the recruiter asking to schedule a screening interview and to provide my availability. This was on a Tuesday night. Following Monday I get another email asking to schedule again. I still haven’t heard anything back and it’s been almost 2 weeks. That recruiter also has reposted the job on LinkedIn and still hasn’t responded to me. I feel like I’m being ghosted

Has anyone else experienced something like this? It is a legit company and person. When should I follow up? I haven’t experienced anything like this with companies before. It used to be that recruiters or HR would reach out and you would typically hear from them within a week to get an interview scheduled. Is this a common hiring process now where recruiters/HR will send an email asking to schedule but then never follow through with the interview?

give them a call maybe?

Id follow up asap within 2 business, there's no way someone way take that long after sending a scheduling email.

I've been looking for work going on 7 months now, and with every recruiter outreach I have spoke to them that day or the following day. It's safe to say that if you haven't been completely ghosted, you certainly aren't a priority candidate.

It's not professional to keep you in the dark, and if you haven't already, you need to move on.

I work for a small agency and manage our internal marketing acct. We had very few processes in place when I started. I’ve since created, implemented, and trained our dept. on project mgmt for clients and am trying to convince the owner to apply those principles to our internal jobs. They are resistant because they just want the work to be done and don’t “want to keep spending money on internal jobs”. I’m confused because we’re doing the work either way and “spending” in labor/resources.

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
