Uncle D recruiter tried same with me. He was asking whether I would be interested as SC whereas I am M2 in current firm. So I tried to pull one on him and said I am looking for SM role even though I applied for M role in the first place. Before ending conversation he agreed to make sure put me in M bucket for interviews😆. If they try to pull one on you, do the same to them lol

Yes, but generally Deloitte is flatter than other companies and consulting firms. Comp for a Deloitte consultant can often be roughly the same as a SC at other firms.
My advice would be to be up front with the recruiter and have a number in mind and don’t budge from that. The bench is so small here so you definitely have more leverage than you normally would have

Alternative view - I applied to a consultant role bc that's what they had open at the time and my recruiter bumped me to a senior consultant based on the screening call.
So the talent system might just have a listing at the consultant level but really its an open spot they're using to hire for multiple seniorities.
Had a phone screening today with a recruiter for the same level of role. He said the consultant role is comparable to senior associate. Is this true or was I bamboozled too haha

Yeah you sound consultant level to me. Senior consultants are expected to be able to lead small work streams and typically have 4-5yrs
