When meds are covered they inflate the price for some ridiculous reason. An average ivf cycle of meds are between $3k and $5k out of pocket. When you reach out to freedom ask them to provide you with the out of pocket price
No I was saying to try to ask them about the out of pocket to understand the difference. Unfortunately I had a similar max. I maxed out my med limit in one cycle and additional cycles were out of pocket but at a much lower cost. It’s such a scam sadly.
Be very careful with CCRM, they don’t seem to be covering egg freezing just infertility treatments...even though it’s the same treatments. If anyone has experience here let me know
This doesn’t include post retrieval drugs and seems really high to me. No estimated drug quote from CCRM had drugs this high and I would expect WIN to get negotiated pricing because they only use Freedom. IVF is emotional / frustrating enough that I don’t want to also be constantly battling / questioning our insurance coverage. Anyone else have experience with them and is this in line with what you paid?
That seems really high. I got mine from MDR and it was about $4k for Menopur and Follistim mostly, the rest were cheap generics. They also shipped way too much and I had two boxes of Menopur left. Also, check with your insurance again. I paid OOP but then send the EOB to our HR person and she managed to get insurance to reimburse almost all of it.
Depends on how much medicine you need and if the drugs are covered or not. Self pay has a totally different price list than insurance covered. It’s ridiculous.
Last time I went through this for my wife I had 10k in coverage and meds cost 11k would have been like 7k our of pocket with deductibles and limits, called pharmacy and offered cash they charged 6k it’s a ridiculous system that screws with people at an already horrible time
