100% the same, any advice is welcome because I hate people hating me cutting them off hah
Chief
I’m so self conscious about it but it’s impossible to stop
Im a certified platinum yapper on my meds lol i have thoughts and the people need to know them alllllllll
I will literally grind my teeth together to keep me from doing this lol. It's the only thing that seems to work. Love how productive Adderall makes me, but damn does it make it hard for me to shut up.
This thread has been very enlightening for me. I always assumed people who cut others off mid conversation were doing it from a lack of self awareness lol
I've never been on meds but realized more and more that I do this. Over the years it's improved but it still happens so I'm also curious ):
And if you look like you're gonna be sick, everyone will pay attention to you and ask what's wrong, keeping the speaking still focused on you. Genius
I don't specifically interrupt, but I never stop talking, and it keeps me up at night lol. I've been trying the technique of just matching the amount of things the other people say, and policing myself when I get too excited about a topic, but it still happens quite a lot.
I need a muzzle
Wait, what meds are these that cause you to yap?!
Adderall aka blabber serum
Ugghhh used to be me so bad! But meds have helped curb it to the point I only do it with people that I actually want to cut off because they take 20 min to get to the point. #quelbree
Haha ! Depending on the situation, I do something else that keeps me distracted.. if in a meeting, I use a notebook (to doodle mainly but others think I’m very attentive lol), if in a small active group, I redirect my attention to others so I’m less aware of my own urges to talk. I’ve had some positive comments about me being really passionate but I know it hugely annoys others.
