Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Tech risk is mot “consulting”
Ya let’s be clear here EYs “consulting” practice isn’t their traditional consulting practice it’s called strategy and transactions and EYP is the strategy consulting group there and they get paid
Tech risk is basically audit bro, it’s not really tech consulting. don’t fall for it! If I were you, I would take the 80k and do audit.
80k is the highest audit starting salary I’ve heard of so congrats

Come to EY. We are way more nurturing to new professionals. Tech risk isn't consulting btw. It's more audit.
Yeah this is audit vs IT audit. Companies are trying to sugar coat what jobs really are lol (PwC calling audit “trust solutions” now lol). I’d argue you rather be in audit at Deloitte. Just put your 1.5 years/2 years in and move on.

As an analyst probably little to no room. They use cohort models so everyone is roughly the same

Tech Risk consulting is IT audit. Most people hate IT Audit but I did two rotations in it and didn't find it any more boring that regular audit. Based on my experience, IT audit works fewer hours and gets paid more.
Financial audit vs IT/Systems Audit. I started out in IT audit and it’s extremely dry work but I believe the work hours are significantly less than financial audit (at least from my experience). In most firms, IT audit sits within consulting or advisory while audit sits under audit/assurance. If you decide to accept the IT audit job and network right, you can definitely move to other consulting areas you’re interested in within a short period of time. I was able to move from IT audit to Data Analytics after my first IT audit engagement. However, it’s extremely difficult to move from financial audit to consulting since they’re separate services.
Hi, can you give me advice on how to do that ?

Tech risk is really the dregs. Not real consulting
It’s really the worst, I honestly wonder what I did to deserve this “experience”. I’m honestly terrified I’m never gonna be able to leave to something I enjoy.

Tech-risk consulting isn't consulting. It is IT Audit. I'd argue it is worse. You're like the assistant of an auditor. After EY splits, IT Audit Consulting folks will actually stay with EY. They will not be part of the Consulting NewCo. Accept Deloitte tomorrow.
You a grad student. Top school? GPA? YOE? Any actual experience? Internship? Many things factor into the comp structure. And just because it is consulting, does not necessary mean high comp. It depends on the type of consulting you do. Strategy consulting pays high in many B4 and T2 firms.
Yep this is all true. If you have no real full time work experience I’d say that the offers you’ve described are pretty good ones, OP
And just advice for negotiations for your next job - know the salary range of the position you’re interviewing for and ask at the upper end of the range, if you feel you can justify it. This is much harder to do when you’re starting out in your career since you have much less leverage, but this is the most effective way to negotiate today since employers can’t verify an applicant’s salary history in most states
EY has unlimited PTO so I’d go with EY.

Dear god do not go to IT audit. Search around fishbowl for people’s feelings about IT audit, it’s a sticky career that is hard to get out of.
Can someone tell me what IT audit actually is or what it does? What do duties look like?
