I currently am working in the remote Google Health landscape and wanted to know if UPMC and Allegheny Health Network in the Metro Pittsburgh PA area are great healthcare organizations to look into and how they treat their clinical support staff in general! Best regards, Omari-CCM

What's it like to work for Google Health?

like

First, I have never worked for AHN or have any firsthand knowledge. I have talked to colleagues who worked there and their response is basically "it's about like any other healthcare network of hospitals." In response to your question, I did a quick research and customer reviews are mostly bad. However, I didn't see any employee reviews. You may want to try your own info search online to gather more data to help you make a decision as to whether to seek employment there.

In an environment where we’re barely surviving, fielding resignations left and right, I thought this might be a good place to vent, source ideas, discuss common trends etc. Our field is very unique and hard to find comps in terms of salary, daily duties, expectations so I’m hoping we can have an open dialogue on this!

Hello, I need your advice. I am currently in management in primary care. I have a strong management background in specialty hospital practice management. Recently some leadership positions have become available and I feel as if my leader has discouraged me from applying. His take is that I should take certain steps before applying, however I have the experience from my previous employment in this leadership role. Would I be overstepping to apply anyways ?

I have an MHA and 4 years of management experience. I’m currently a manager, but seeking a director level position. Any advice for trying to temper my expectations? I feel like all director level positions have 5 years in the posting, but a lot of my peers with the same experience are already in director level positions. Are they just lucky? Am I jumping the gun? Do I just need to stick it out?

I’m a young(ish) male running a private practice. Been with the group a year and a half and haven’t exactly gelled with some of the older employees. We’ve made tremendous financial improvements but in a meeting last night one of the physicians stated, in front of me, maybe we shouldn’t have hired a young guy to run the practice….I can’t think of a more passive aggressive way to ask someone to leave. Thoughts?
