I currently work at a Big 4 firm as a finance transformation consultant (3+ YoE), and have decided this career is not for me. I want to pivot to asset/wealth management as it better aligns with my interests and I would find more meaning in the work. However, I am having trouble getting interviews, even for entry-level positions. Any advice for how I can improve my marketability given I don’t have direct experience in the field?

Seeking advice on career paths within tech after bizops. Currently in bizops and former consultant, and while the work is fine I’ve realized that bizops feels similar to consulting and in the long term I’m looking for a role that has more ownership and ideally more analytical. For the CFE, did you do anything in addition to the ACFE prep course? The course is just practice questions, so I’m wondering where I can actually learn the information first before that.

I interviewed for an employed role and knocked my business plan pitch out the park, but could tell I disappointed them with my technical. By my own admission I’m lacking in this area as only have 1.5 years experience with a poor manager who only had me focus on biz dev.

They asked me what my salary expectations are but had already hinted my experience would knock me down a pay grade.

As it was 4 of them and 1 of me I said I would email them. How do I play this without lowballing myself?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. Bad idea to reneg on an internship offer for a better offer?

Currently a senior interested in consulting but a mix of coming from a non target and requiring sponsorship has me losing hope. Any recommendations on how to proceed with recruiting? I've been told only MBB will sponsor entry level consultants. I have both VC and Consulting experiences through internships.

When seeking a new role, How many different agencies have y’all had to interview with before being hired? I’m on agency number 6 right now I’m so over it. I know my portfolio is amazing because so many recruiters wouldn’t be reaching out if that wasn’t the case. The process is Mad agggggy.

Is it a big deal if a partner questions how much time you spent on something? Can’t they just write off time that seems excessive, or am I missing something? Sometimes I take a really long time to do things because I switch matters frequently, and I do a lot of research to make sure I’m doing things right.

Curious - would you consider a lateral move to a lower ranked firm if the practice group is higher ranked than at your current firm? In other words what’s more important - firm or practice group ranking?

I'm italian, 26 yo and currently working in France as financial analyst.
Work environment is great, friendly and multicultural but I don't like the job at all.
Personal life is not so nice since I manage to see my family and gf every 30/45 days only. Colleagues have their own lives and at the end we don't hang out much.
My dilemma is:
A) going back to Italy at a lower salary with less growth opps but better personal life or
B) Switching my job here and hold on
