I didn't have any work pending after 5 today. Nothing to prepare for tomorrow as well. Family ate dinner & cleaned up by 8 and I felt weird. Felt like I wasn't doing something right. Felt wrong to have that much time on my hands. That much free time that I had to grab a book to kill time....
Am I losing it? Or has consulting made us run so much that standing still feels like something wrong ?

How is WLB at a MM fund different from a MF? I’ve heard MF are worse on average, but what makes it worse? Is it just the hours, or is the work also significantly different?

If our mental health is not good at the moment, how do we convey it to the team? Most of the folks in my team take such things lightly and I feel weird to let them know about it. So I just have to lie and put a sick leave.
Also, even before friday ends, I start to stress about monday… and I think that is wrong. We should look forward to work and not stress about it but sadly the people around me here make me want to leave the office.

How often have you guys worked weekends this summer? Been surprisingly chill for us this year

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? What will get me to be able to work for longer than 35 minutes without getting distracted?

I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.

I currently have the adjustable stand desk and a relatively comfortable office chair (not when reclining) but the other half of my office is empty.
