You've made me thankful my workproduct is entirerly written materials. I can't imagine having revisions on graphic work.
But yeah, revisions and nitpicking will happen, hopefully they'll diminish in time as you learn and adapt to each other's styles.
Yes! I am not in graphic design but work closely with our Graphic Designer. It seems everyone has an opinion on every design! It takes a lot of patience!

Yes! Although it was words, not art. Freelancers usually build in 2-3 revisions before they start charging extra, but employees seem to be at the mercy of the approvers ;) Like you, I can't understand how they don't realize that revisions take time, which cuts into the other work's time. It seems that would be common sense.
