I don't understand the concept of receiving a 4 on Year End (and getting laid off). There is no set percentage to give people 4's and 5's right? How does one mess up that badly?

Got laid off on Monday. Felt okay at first, but now feel inadequate and useless since Julie Sweet mentioned the 25K that Accenture laid off were low performers. I know I wasn’t a poor performer, I got dinged for not doing enough projects in my practice, but still go top reviews for my projects. Just want to vent.

Started working a week after graduating last May. Was on track to be one of the top staff performers and then COVID hit. Since working from home I am one of the lowest performers. For those of you who left big 4 for industry - I’m seeing a lot of people saying they got 30% + raises when leaving. How did you find these jobs willing to pay that much more? Looking to leave at the M1 level and having trouble finding anything with much more than a 10-15% increase in base comp. from my current salary. Would it be dumb to leave for that low of a percentage increase? Some are offering equity in addition to the base comp. but hard to put a specific value to that now.
