Hi! I’m having a 50 person wedding also, and have this same fear. I just keep telling myself that no matter what happens, at the end of the night, I’ll be married! I’m approaching it with an attitude/hope that if my fiancé and I have fun, everyone else will too.
Pro
i totally get the stress but i think the environment is all that matters. if you’re having a band or a dj communicate to them that you want them to help keep the vibe fun and just go from there!
Maybe incorporate entertainment into the program? Photo both is always great, balloon animals for kids, bridesmaids and groomsmen having a dance routine, etc.
Communicate with your best friends at the wedding about your concern. So that they can help hype it up. All you need is a core group dancing and people will join in.
Also serve a lot of champagne.
Our 50-guest wedding, with a mix of ages, had everyone dancing all night! Here are some tips:
Play music for all ages: We chose classic hits from artists like Elvis and Stevie Wonder, and people of all ages hit the dance floor.
Keep it short and sweet: We let guests know the dancing would end at 11 pm, so they could enjoy it without worrying it would drag on.
Get involved!: We personally invited people to dance, and they were happy to join us!
We loved our intimate wedding; it allowed us to connect with everyone who was there for us. Enjoy your special day!
