Thanks for keeping an eye on things soldier
I wish I had the capacity to care about such inane things that other people do. Wait, no I don't.

THIS! 🎉😂😂👍

I mean EY shafts us with the titles “Staff” and “Senior.”

I feel that. But when my PPMD shows the client staffing plans that say staff and senior the cat is somewhat out of the bag.

The EM title has been used in various companies and industry for years. McK doesn’t have sole rights to its use, but I do agree with your comment on the misleading use of LinkedIn job titles. People seem to do it based on recruiter guidance to expand job search results. I don’t think it is for social posturing by any means (at least not most).

Just let us have the titles okay? We don’t have the prestige 😢
OP, many organizations use the title “Engagement Manager” for roles managing client projects or accounts. Not sure why you seem to be implying only McK can use it.

We have EMs at Deloitte... like that’s their title internally and to our clients..?
I might be wrong but Monitor Deloitte uses the EM title.
Only on LinkedIn 😋
Some organizations do use it but some don’t. Folks who don’t categorically re-title to signal McK. As I said it is mostly Deloitte who are folks who did not make the cut into MBB, yet year for those titles. They are senior manager and manager Which is perfectly fine.

Using titles that aren’t yours is stupid. Use what your company has. Industry doesn’t matter, every company has differences in titles and levels from their competitors.
I mean if it helps define what you do better there’s no harm.
For example Microsoft Product Managers are called Program Managers, but Program Managers are a completely different job outside of Microsoft, so the majority call themselves Product Managers instead.
EM is absolutely fine, it's the designation used on many proposals anyway. AP on the other hand is a bit of a stretch

EY in some places (like Canada) do have Associate Partners. It’s one step below full Partner.
At Accenture, we are using different titles internally and externally for certain levels.
Believe marketing is the one determining it
This got me wondering; do other firms use the “Project Leader” title as we do? I always assumed it’s just us.

Yes - I had that title in one of my prior industry roles.
OP: Can’t agree more. Everyone wants to be us. I feel sorry for such people
🤣🤣🤣
