I got a message from a recruiter this morning who has tried to recruit me before, but it just wasn’t the right timing for me. It doesn’t feel like good timing this time either as I’ve been with my current firm for less than a year after leaving industry, but the firm who has reached out would put me in a role where I got to focus on my area of expertise all the time without having to pick up projects in other areas if they can’t find other managers. What would you do?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

I got hired as a BA, at an advisory firm. Im new to the industry and new to the role. I see that every BA is different in different companies. Right now I’m building out SOP’S for our different departments, as well working with clients guiding them through our pipeline.
