I got an offer for a fund accountant/assistant controller position but I'm not completely sold on the role/company. I'm a senior 3 and a year from now is when I would move up to manage. The recruiter says once I hit manager it will he hard to transition to a fund accounting/assistant controller role. Not sure what to do. Any advice?

Hello everyone! I am a Judicial Law Clerk, which I have been for a little over two years now. However, I’m planning on moving into the AML/Compliance realm. I have a background in finance, having been a Finance Disbursing Officer in the Army for 6 years with one deployment in that role. I work as a Solution Specialist (sales rep) at an Authorizer Verizon retailer. Phone/wireless sales is not something I want to do forever. I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
