I got an offer to join Deloitte Consulting as a Sr Strategy Consultant. Any advice on how to start a successful career there (skills to focus on, books to read, etc)? Interested in doing M&A work (maybe) in the tech or PE space. I've connected with a few partners but don't know if it's been helpful (short term) in getting me on a good (first) project. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me.
