I graduated May 2023 and I started applying to a lot of jobs during that time but never got replies back. I then decided I wanted to take a break I did not realize it would be this long of a time I would not already be in my field. I don’t really know where to start I feel like I lost touch with design, I didn’t do any internships while I was in school. I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any places/people who talk about being a UX/UI designer and let them shadow their every day work.

What would you folks say is the best and most achievable route to take for true Program Manager (minimal tech exp) with Sec+, picking up CISSP, and wanting to get more into the technology? Thoughts?

Could someone explain what finance closing process is? I passed CPA and have audit experience but I don’t really understand how industry accounting cycle works :( What does it mean to close the books? Are they referring to 12/31 deadline? Do all JE have to be recorded within this date? How does one close it?

I have an offer accepted from Elevance 125k (Anthem) and w a good team and seems that WLB would be ok. Also, Amazon hiring manager wants to interview me for a job. Is just a hiring manager int. so obvi nothing guaranteed. Salary if offered will be more than 150k. My question is should I accept the interview and see where it goes? Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.
