Hi Fishes, I have an interview with PwC AC in the coming week. My tech stack is Power BI, SQL, SSRS,SSIS and Tableau. YEO -4 Current CTC is 9 LPA. During the initial call with the recruiter he asked for ny expected CTC and I asked for 17 LPA. Can anyone from PwC comment on this? Is this too much to ask or is this what someone at my current level would get paid at PwC. Please let me know!!!! PwC PwC India Pwc AC Deloitte Deloitte USI

I absolutely still do. While I agree that this convention is *becoming* outdated, I’ve worked with hiring managers over the years who absolutely let it sway their opinion if there are two very similar candidates and one follows up and one doesn’t.
Thanks for this perspective! I agree that I think the practice is outdated, especially in the age of zoom interviews with multiple people on a team, but if it can only help my case, then why not?
I don’t just cause I’m tired
I usually send thank yous. I didn’t send one for the first time ever recently. I had a third round interview and right before, the recruiter called me saying the guy interviewing me really values thank you emails, and for him it’s a make or break. Because of this, I purposefully didn’t send a thank you email and didn’t get an offer. Sending them should just be a nice, unnecessary gesture - not a requirement to stroke some guys ego
Haha I would do the exact same thing in that situation.

I don’t think it’s really expected. Especially the higher the position.
Absolutely no
What a bizarre convention. Why wouldn’t they send thank you emails to me? Presumably if there are multiple interviews, it’s taking much more of my time then theirs.
If you expect candidates to thank you for the privilege of occupying your time without committing to any reciprocal courtesy, you’re modeling a power dynamic that I want no part of — and that no other sought-after candidate is interested in.
This is exactly how I feel, but after reading some of the other responses, if it really does sway a tie breaker, I'm all for it.

I always do because it simply never hurts to and takes so little of my time, why risk it? I dont always abide by the 24-hour rule if I know someone's schedule looks crazy or if that falls on a weekend, but I do always follow up.
Yeah I always used to follow the 24 he rule, but part of me questioned whether it would still matter for higher roles. I'll prob send a thank you to the hiring manager on Monday.
