I had a surprise interview topic yesterday. I was told to prepare for a general system design round. But, my interviewer asked me domain specific questions in Salesforce. I answered to the best of my ability, but I was not fully prepared for Salesforce specific questions, especially around topics that I had not previously worked on.

My recruiter is also surprised interviewer didn’t read the instructions. Will I get a chance to interview again?

You interviewed at Google? Sorry little confused.

Yes, I interviewed at google. Recruiter told me to prepare for X. I went prepared for C, but was asked questions on Y, which I was not prepared for.

Aah, that happened with me as well! And then one more round got scheduled. I wonder if its part of the process to test us how we perform when unprepared

What role?
Miscommunications between recruiter<->interviewer can happen. Finding the focus topic in an interview request can be a needle in a haystack the way some requests are written. I showed up once ready for a general SWE interview and was surprised to learn that the candidate expected to spend the entire time discussing their PhD dissertation. We ended up doing a little of both but I wasn't very well qualified to discuss the PhD topic in much depth. If I had seen any note from the recruiter in advance, I'd have suggested they find another interviewer for that PhD topic.

Salesforce Application developer. Recruiter apologized and is now requesting another interview.

So, I’m interviewing for a position that fits perfectly, HR likes my profile, had great conversations with them. Today I had a Panel interview with HR and the hiring manager. The manager is not experienced, it’s her first r manager role and she’s been in it for 3 months. I was prepared but was out of breath the entire interview, had a knot in my throat, had trouble finding my words. It’s like I had PTSD when this manager came into the picture. Ever had that?

I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
