I had dinner last night with a friend who is a nurse. She just came back from a "nurse cruise" where she had the opportunity to earn CE's (the nursing equivalent of CPEs) during sea days on the cruise.

If given the opportunity would you go on a cruise and earn CPEs? Last night she was weighing the pros and cons. It feels like CPEs would mess with the feel of a vacation...but sometime sea days can be boring.

However she did say some nurses would show up visibly drunk to the lectures 🤣

I would definitely go on a cruise with a bunch of drunk nurses

This is a thing for CPE too. There are lots of different resorts, cruises, and vacation type activities that you can do along with CPE. I did one with my family where I was at the class for four hours in the early morning by the time I got back to the hotel my wife and kids were awake, had showered and eaten breakfast and then we had the rest of the day to vacation.

I usually end up working on vacation anyway so it felt like a normal vacation

It's like national training but on a cruise. I'd definitely go.

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?
