I hate what Delta has done to the "shuttle" product by brining it to the main terminal at LGA. Screaming obnoxious children everywhere 👺

You too were once a screaming obnoxious child.

Now? Just obnoxious.

Delta operates what it calls the Delta Shuttle from LGA to both DCA and BOS. The flights depart hourly, have less stringent check in rules, etc. to ensure they remain competitive with train travel. Until the last few years, the flights also departed from the Marine Air Terminal at LGA, a terminal on the opposite side of the airport from the rest of the terminals (and a historic landmark from the early days of aviation btw), which simplified things considerably. The only people going through security were usually Shuttle pros and the total number of people was small because it was basically just the number of people who could be on each hour’s flights — hence security was fast and a very short walk to the gate. You could reliably get from curb to gate if you arrived at T-15 minutes, occasionally even less if you were lucky.

However as Delta expanded its presence at LGA more broadly, they needed to move the flights to the main C/D terminals. First because they wanted to facilitate connections between the Shuttle flights and other fights at LGA. (That’s why BOS flights moved a few years ago.) Then they traded the entire terminal away to get more gates in C/D

I don’t think they had a choice...

OP, can you explain for the uninformed?

Thanks for the overview OW, that’s really interesting

Does anyone have a preferred car service company? I am looking for a service that can consistently provide traveler alerts such as when car has arrived, passenger is on board, trip competed, etc. across US cities. I have found a company that will do this when I book travel in NYC, but when my Professionals arrive in their destination cities the affiliates do not offer this same feature. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hello - thinking of starting a small side coaching practice. Could use a bit of help because I've never thought about opening a side hustle but times are tough with two kids in college.

1. What is the best approach to collecting your fee? Each session? Pay the package cost upfront,? Other, and if so, what is it?
2. How do you collect it? Venmo? Credit card?
3. Do you have to register your business?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Does anyone use a brokerage account instead of a checking account? Mine offers a fee free debit/atm card and free checks which I'd rarely use but starting to question whether it is worth maintaining my "big bank" checking account that requires a $1500 minimum balance.

I also have a local credit union checking/savings that I'd use if I need any services or to deposit cash and a HYSA that gets my paycheck, is used for mortgage and credit card payments, and to transfer to checking or investments.

Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?
