I’ll take your Slack if you take my Basecamp.
Eh, it’s a lot easier to ignore a slack message than someone physically coming to you to ask a question they probably could have figured out on their own
Legit question. Would you prefer a bombardment of emails? While I don’t love PM tools like Slack or Basecamp... just because of the inherent nature of humans not being great at communicating, I prefer it over email. Email is virtually impossible to search later down the line for nuggets of info, no way to organize attachments in meaningful ways, etc
OP you can turn off the Slack notifications
I’ve heard unemployment if fun. You’ll have plenty of time to page and email people, while swapping thumbdrives and laserdisks.
I also think, as with any tool, it also depends on how the group uses it. I’ve been at a shop that uses Basecamp the last few years. Seen many teams transition. Some people “get it” and it makes things nice and organized. Some folks don’t, and things go to shit
You’ll love Slack if your agency used Skype. 🙄
I still get a barrage of emails. And texts. The only thing Slack does is make my phone ding more
No way. I love Slack and would rather have it than a bazillion emails.
