I have $200K in betterment for automated investing (eg 90% stock 10% bond) and use Personal Capital to track all my accounts. Recently personal capital approached me to use their advisory service to manage the investment - the fee is 0.89% vs. 0.25% at betterment. They don’t seem to have a better strategy except “we have a live person managing your investment”. Anyone have experience? Shall I consider it? (I don’t have time /energy to manage it)

I kept most in betterment, and opened a brokerage account to buy ETFs such as OOO, ARK etc.

No

Do you like what Betterment has been achieving for you?
If you had a but more time would you rather invest by yourself?

Lol...that's my strategy too. As most pundits would say the best you can do to your portfolio is to set an allocation between equity and bond index funds and then do nothing but keep on investing. You will track the market better than any professional investor owing to lower expenses (fees, turnover cost etc.)

In personal capital use the compare portfolio against balanced.. That would be their recomended portfolio, so you should be able to see the difference in the charts if any

*Blended instead of balanced

Don’t pay for something that costs more!

But OP is already paying 25 basis points for a target date fund

Good traders tend to be flexible. I can make money in all kinds of markets, being a bull or a bear. Today was a headscratching day. We rallied a lot farther than we should have. We bounced in place's we shouldn't have. So, I have to ask myself? What the hell happened? While I made money today, I should have made lots more money. Remember the tip that markets don't count Pre-NY Mondays. If I decided to do my from last weeks low as opposed to today's low. I'm bullish. Additional info in reply post

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Folks, investing newbie here. Planning on using the Bogleheads recommended 3 fund portfolio. Opened a tIRA with Fidelity and have been reading about their 4 fund portfolio which is in line with Bogleheads.
Question: I'm looking for a step by step video on how to go about selecting investment options. As a newbie, I know what I want to invest in, but I'm not sure how to do it. Any tutorial videos that walk you through the process? E.g.- click here to select, click there to confirm.

Can someone point me to some material where I can read about profit sharing vs 401k. I get the concept, but I am trying to understand is 10% profit sharing vested over 5 years better than an employee 401k match of 6%?

From my understanding 10% PS is better because it’s just a standard 10% on top of whatever I contribute though it takes 5 years to vest. Does this mean if I leave before 5 years I don’t get any of it?
