Canadian citizen TN doesn’t need sponsorship and is NOT a visa, so I wouldn’t use that language because it’ll scare some people off. You can get sponsorship, but usually it’s granted at the border with just a letter on company letter head rather than via sponsorship filed with UCSIS.
All it requires is a letter from your employer saying why they want to hire you, your qualifications, and the intended length of the job. You present that when you drive over the border (or fly, but the land border crossings likely have more experience processing these.)
Easiest thing to do would be apply for a job, and once hired ask for a letter and explain to them it won’t cost them a penny more, but you need it for documentation when you cross. For Canadians this isn’t sponsorship in the traditional sense it’s used. The employer doesn’t have to file I-129. They just have to write a letter. Even small businesses can do it.
Only requirement is you go back to Canada at least once every 3 years and ask to be let back in with the same initial paperwork.

Was going to edit further to clarify: visas are permission from a US consulate or embassy to present yourself at a port of entry to be considered for a certain class of admission.
Canadian TN is not that, because as a Canadian citizen you have the right to drive to the US border and ask the US government to let you into the country on TN status without the need to go to Montreal and have them put a visa foil in your passport. You don’t need a visa to get TN status. All you need is a detailed letter, not a sponsorship.
As you noted, your best bet is B4 or other national firms.
Thanks.
I apologize for the redundancy. I'm just trying to make big changes in my career while I have the time and energy to do so.
