In need of a gut check: I lateraled a year and a half ago to move to a location closer to my husband’s parents. I loved my old firm and was given good opportunities and was extremely cautious about lateraling, so I asked many questions during my interviews, including whether associates made their hours. I was assured they always did. Day 1 at the new job starts and it turns out I was hired with another associate for the same position. I can now go weeks at a time with just a few hours of work.
Tips for getting better at problem solving interview questions? I’ve done quite a bit of case prep, but get nervous, my brain fogs up, and I can’t structure the problem/solution coherently at all. Facing my 12th rejection this year and feeling brutal
Hi all, I had a phone screen with a recruiter on 11/23, and he said his coordinator would reach out in scheduling an interview with the practice manager. I haven’t heard from the coordinator and emailed the recruiter this morning but nothing yet. My application is in “interview” status. Should I just move on?
Hi Fishes I am 2 years 6 months experienced so shall I start applying for Jobs now or should I wait for 3 more months than start applying. My tech stack is Python with Django framework and Typescript,CSS,HTMl with Angular framework, Apart from that I have also worked upon some NLP.
I’m at the references stage of interviews so I reached out to a former partner I worked for to see if he would be ok with me listing him as a reference. He agreed, but also asked whether I would come back and work for them. Would it still be weird to list them as a reference?
Old manager whom I am good with is interviewing someone in my network. That someone is reaching out to me for help. I don’t particularly like this person as he was rather cold in my own job search so I kinda want to screw him over. Am I being petty? Should I just ignore him?
When in the interview process do you ask the team the expected work hours? Also, how would you ask it?
14 months. Dozens of interviews. Failed final rounds with some big tech firms. Appreciate the encouragement received from this bowl. In a few weeks I’ll be a Salesforce Sr Principal CSM. To those still interviewing, KEEP GRINDING! Your day is coming. 😁😁

I am currently in the process to interview as an early career Data Scientist at LinkedIn I haven’t received confirmation yet as to which track but I suspect it will be Strategy and Insights (the experimentation focused role). 1. What is the best salary to ask for this given I am early career but still going to be located in Sunnyvale? 2. How should I prepare for the product sense part of this interview given the breadth of questions they can ask? Facebook (Meta)
If a recruiter asks me if I’ve spoken to another recruiter at the company, is it okay if I lie and say no? Or should I just be honest and say yes? I’ve heard of instances where candidates have been ghosted if they say they’ve been in contact with another recruiter. In my case, the recruiter I was in contact with messaged me on LinkedIn and never followed up after our 5 minute phone conversation. I really want this job so I don’t want to mess anything up before getting an interview.
Hi fishies! I’m currently working in Financial services as a PM ( one year full time experience) and I want to shift my career to go to high tech companies (FAANG) as my goal. With the experience I have, sadly I wasn’t able to get an interview from FAANG. I’ve now got an offer from Accenture working on digital transformation as a PM/PO do you think moving to Accenture would be a good choice and it’ll get me closer to get into FAANG?

Honestly, I’m tired of society pushing sports gambling and its easy accessibility. Also disheartened by how many folks are fully leaning in on it. Growing up, “going to the track” was the degenerate gambling and we heard so many stories about not falling into it. And now, all these apps for sports betting are luring people in and it all starts with “dude, this is a sure win” or “they gave me $200 on X player doing simple guaranteed thing”. I’m concerned that people will quickly spiral.

Full-time MBA or EMBA? My company (EY) would pay for EMBA, but require me to stay with the firm for 3y post graduation; MBA would be on me and I have no more than 50k in my savings. The reason I am considering full time MBA is that I am not sure I want to stay in consulting, especially not in EY. Also, I am 30yo with 7y of experience and was recently promoted to a Manager. Any advice?
I've been required to work from the office, but it adds 3 hours of commuting each day and I feel way more exhausted at work. Can I speak to my boss about getting a special privilege to continue to work from home?
Have an offer on the table at a startup that’s $35K more than current big 4 salary for a Senior Manager role. Benefits package is very comparable (401k match, healthcare costs, fringe stipends for WFH). Startup has been around for 5+ years and has secured a solid, 9 figures of investor dollars. Is it worth the move and having to leave my extremely secure “network” and role at a Big 4?
Currently living in San Diego, but thinking about moving to Dallas so I can buy a house hack, explore somewhere else and try something different. Anyone lived in both places and can share any insight?
