I am in the - it’s a bad idea camp. But won’t berate you or anyone that has a different view. It’s a personal decision that should weigh your risk tolerance and appetite for civic responsibility.

Exactly. No one who leaves their house and goes to an airport and takes a flight with others on the flight, enters another airport and proceeds to go to another person’s home can know for sure whether they have contracted the virus. This, the best way to prevent possibly sickening your family is to stay your butt home.
Thanks everyone for their feedback! It’s not worth the risk. Might as well wait a couple months and feel 100% confident in my decision.

Good choice!
If I were in your shoes, my biggest concern would be if any of my family members are higher risk candidates. If they are, is it worth you potentiallly transmitting Covid brought from NC or either airport to them?
No. Don’t do this.
I’m the unpopular opinion who supports it. Prepare to get berated with comments about how selfish the decision to fly and put others at risk is, blah blah blah
Thank you for sharing D1!
I’m not gonna tell you not to do it, but if someone on your flight has the virus, you just killed all the old and fat people in your family.
Lmao. The fat ones too?

People are still traveling?
this is not a “personal choice” matter. this is doing what’s best for yourself and those around you. you’re not just deciding whether you are ok getting sick or not. you’re deciding whether it’s okay to inadvertently and indirectly pass the germs from something somebody happens to touch, to you touching it then touching something else, to somebody else touching that thing.
in the current circumstances it is definitely a selfish thing to put a “choice” before the well-being of society.
By all means you can travel, but make sure you can live with yourself if you happen to catch it along the way or are asymptomatic, and it kills a family member
I think it’s a personal decision so you do what you feel is right for you.
Woke brigade coming through
I don’t see any issue with it! Enjoy your family. I think it’s about time we focus on ensuring the most vulnerable are isolated and let the rest of us get on with our life. Wear a mask, wash your hands religiously and you’ll be just fine.
Rising Star
Who do you define as at risk and isolating? Over 60? People who live with anyone over 60? People with diabetes? Asthma? COPD? lupus? Recently on chemo? Anyone who lives with anyone with any of those?
I think you will find that it’s a very small portion of people who are actually truly low risk when it comes to themselves and their families. And it’s not obvious on sight.
So, you open up your company for the “safe” people to come back, do I then have to give a doctors note to explain why I can’t come back? Even though I look perfectly healthy? Who gets to know my medical status? Will that status then impact my employment?
Can of worms, dude, can of worms.
I view the risk being low, but would rather have everyone lock themselves away until May. It’s real life prisoners dilemma and I’d prefer everyone cooperates. If things aren’t better in a month my tune will change and I will be ready to get back to normal with the rest of society.

I think it’s a bad idea. You don’t know what you might pick up on the way. But totally understand it’s a special holiday for folks. Just stay safe
Seems like it’s against everything the government has issued. If you want to be someone potentially adding fuel to the fire then that’s your prerogative.
Nope.
If you haven’t been tested you won’t know for sure you are/aren’t carrying the virus. Plus there are a lot of false negatives. So you’d show up in their home and could potentially infect your family. That’s why they suggest 15 days quarantine if you travel.
Each person can make the choice that is best for them and their family. I’m sure most companies would understand and not require a doctor note. I think my idea is better than indefinite lockdown. Under your scenario when can this ever end?
Wear a mask when you travel. Speedy recovery to your parents!
