Hi,
I'm currently having an offer from BlueOptima and Cohesity and am conflicted between the two.
I have offers in the SDET profile.
Cohesity Inc is providing me MTS and @BlueOptima is providing SDET-1.
Glassdoor reviews more of less place the two companies almost equally, and the package being offered by the two is almost in the same range.
My preferences include:
Learning opportunities in the role.
Company's work environment.
Company's growth prospects, are also a consideration.

Naming is critical…

Hello! I am looking for two new Texas teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

Because “I’m not a racist” isn’t the same thing as “I’m an antiracist”. The fact that you think it’s ridiculous is exactly why it’s needed.
Yes! Excellent IMS1. 👏🏼👏🏼
I work with one or two who are decidedly racist, homophobic and ageist. We must actively point out the problems in those philosophies, while doing so in love. This anti racist community seeks to do that. I always thought that I wasn’t a racist until I had a conversation with a student of color. I realized how judgmental and racist I was. Only I can change my behavior, and only if I want to. I want to. This group helps me.
You'd be surprised how many teachers I've seen on here that are...how do I say... really closed-minded.
Those same teachers (on here) show a complete disregard for their students, in the way they speak about them.
That's why we need this group.
Nothing surprises me anymore
There is a difference between not being racist and being actively antiracist.
You can’t be active by NOT doing something. “Not being a racist through my behavior” is passive. It shows that you’re not a racist.
“Condemning it when I see it” is active antiracism.
Do you understand the difference?

@Florida, welcome to the group! As you can see from those responses…
We PROUDLY stand against racism and want to actively push against it and it’s iterations.
If that is a problem for you, feel free to not participate in our forum. We are not here to prove anything to you or argue with you. We truly know what love is.

@OHMS1, not everyone chooses to be an antiracist. It’s not your choice, that’s fine. Live your life. Some of the things you state are not what anyone on this forum has touted, so…I’m going to ignore the baseless claims.
That you say you teach students to treat everyone with dignity and respect is great. Each teacher should do that at the very minimum.
There’s no reason for you to attempt to invalidate what we choose to work on or commit to especially since we value and honor all students. We choose to make not being a racist a verb. ❤️
Be well.

… Because our nation needs “anti racist” leaders and activist; data and evidence show that we (teachers) reflect a microcosm of our nation.
Dear OP- You began this thread with a question that seemed to be very legitimate- why does the antiracist bowl need to exist? You were given a legitimate answer almost immediately- because “not a racist” isn’t the same thing as “antiracist”. You didn’t bother to ask what the difference was, but some teachers provided links to further your understanding.
But you come back with “I am an antiracist“. I’m sorry, but you’re not. I’m not saying you’re a racist- I truly believe that you’re not- but you’re not an antiracist. At this point, you’ve willfully chosen to be ignorant about antiracism, and any further comments would just be trolling. You’re better than that, and all of us have better things to do with our time.
If you’re truly interested in learning more about antiracism and the work that antiracist teachers are doing, stick around. But don’t stay just to troll.
THANK YOU! @IMS1
Hello Fellow Educators,
As a white elementary school teacher, I am grateful to those educators who are reaching out and attempting to get all of our attention. Yes, I have always considered myself anti-racist. I have always taught my students to be good to one another and have taken the opportunity to teach all my students about Martin Luther King Jr. and the history of slavery.
Having done so for over twenty years I am still learning. Following the killing of George Floyd and the uprise that followed we are all struggling with how to make sense of our heritage of slavery in this country.
I think it is an opportunity for us to listen with new ears. Listen to what Black people in this country face each and every day. That would be many of our students and their families.
It is our turn as white people in America to listen.
I say this as a mother and grandmother and someone who wants the best for all our children.
In closing I have learned it is so much more than Martin Luther King, which I will continue to celebrate and the history of slavery. African people did not start their history as slaves.
Please be open to the opportunities that are available through this platform.
Holy shit- OMS- why are you posting on this bowl?
Illinois-thank you for the articles but OMS has no intention of reading them.
Thanks to everyone who offered examples of how racism continues to be alive in this country. It’s literally so obvious when reading some of the posts on this site. Makes me equally sad and sick!

@ArkansasHS1, thank you so much. None of us are perfect. The goal (for me) is to do better moment by moment. Thank you for being part of this journey towards a more equitable as loving world.

As I like to say, we are swimming in an ocean of isms….racism, sexism, classism, etc. It’s hard to see when it doesn’t effect you negatively.
So, I just have to listen and try to unlearn some of the things that have been engrained in me since childhood. I can decide what type of person I am by my choices and my actions, period.

FES- learn about anti-racism! It’s not about ‘not being a racist’. Broaden your horizon!
I am anti racists- I am adamantly opposed to “white supremacy”. I just do not believe that all whites are racists. It’s offensive. I am a professional, and the teachers at my school are. There is no reason to actively fight racism!

It is not longer enough to just not be racist. To actively combat systems of oppresion and injustice we must be actively antiracist.
The comments on this post are telling.
If you want a high five for "not being racist" and simply "teaching everyone that color doesn't matter because we are all the same" you won't get it from me or other fellow antiracist educators.
This is where the divide happens. The handful of not racist teachers think the antiracist teachers are racist when in fact the "not racist" teachers are shying away from topics of race, diversity, and equity.
These conversations are crufial in classrooms and necessary for our students.

Many students live-experience racism daily, still.
I don't know anyone who is not against racism. If they're for it, they currently have no choice or foundation in this country. Telling people that they are inherently racist because the color of their skin is...well, racist. Henry Rogers (Kendi) makes a pretty penny peddling this nonsense to all who will listen. I'd rather spend my teaching time modeling to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
I don't behave in a racist manner because I'm against racism. One can't make up terms or redefine words and be surprised when people ask questions. I assume you're not a Marxist and are anti-Marxist. What are you actively doing to fight Marxism? These are not issues that should be given a serious amount of time in school. Not in 2021. Since there has and always will be racist fools, what's the end game here?
