I have a modeling test on Wednesday with a solar farm developer. On the phone interview that proceeded this, the CFO mentioned that these pro forma solar farm models are more nuanced than most. He mentioned bonus depreciation and tax credits among other things. Are there any good resources that I can use to learn about solar farm/renewable energy modeling? Also any general tips or things I should be aware of. If anyone could share a model too that would be awesome! Thanks for the help.

Check out Ed Bodmer’s website, which has some of the better public resources on project finance modeling. For solar, be sure to look into the ITC, MACRS, and basic tax equity structures. Models will be much more granular than typical corporate models.

The government gives solar tax credits on solar energy projects. Currently the tax credits are at 26% but will fall to 10% by 2022 for commercial developments and 0% for residential. For depreciation, you can expense 100% of depreciation for solar related investments

Hi Fishes,

An investment related query. I'm drawing 1 lac/month salary currently and serving notice period with lwd-26-Aug. So, do I need to show all the investment proofs that I declared here as it's only been 5 months in the fiscal year and PPF of 1 lac would make the 5 month salary (5 lacs) non-taxable, right? Please guide.

HELP! When using other offers to negotiate salary, does the employer usually ask for proof of your other offers that you mentioned? I’m super new to this so I’m just curious.

Also, if they do ask to show proof, is that a red flag? Or is that pretty common? If so, I imagine I’d just block out the company name and stuff like that?

I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.

I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.

Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

Looking for advice fish fam. Deloitte vs EY-P. Same level - Manager/Director. EY-P pays $50k more for base and maybe $10 to $20k more as bonus. Currently at Deloitte. Is the extra $60-$70k worth giving up my network? Plan to stay in Consulting and hope to make SM/SD. I have a family and my wife is a homemaker. So money does matter. Would have left easily for an $80k bump. Wouldn’t leave for $30k or less. Don’t know what to do with $60k. Pulling my hair out here. HELP Please!!!

I'm a recent grad who accepted an entry-level full-time job offer with Capital One.
