I have about 40k in traditional 401k at Meryl from my previous big4 employer. This is the first time ever changing jobs and I feel totally confused with what to do with the 401k. Any advice please? Amazon has fidelity and It alllws rollover old 401k into a rollover ira. Is it work keeping as is , or rollover into ira(Roth/traditional) at Meryl or move to fidelity.

I would roll-over into IRA (less fees) and consider a back door conversion to Roth depending on your situation

like

Right it is not prorata is is just 100 percent taxed

If it is traditional, I would not roll to an Ira. I assume Amazon has good investment options. I would roll it the Amazon 401k

If they ever plan to use a backdoor Roth IRA, it will cause them to pay tax

Hi Fishes,
Had a very serious query. In my current organization I was not under taxable bracket by any means so I didn't submit any investment declarations or anything. But I'll start a new job in 2 weeks where I'll be under taxable bracket. So will I get a chance to submit my investment declarations in the new company for tds calculations in the middle of the year ? I'm new to everything so would appreciate your help. TIA :)

I am an associate at an AM200 firm and was (IMO) very clear prior to accepting this role that I value work-life balance and wanted to try to keep work at night on the weekends to a minimal, but since February, it seems like it’s always something that requires my time as needed disregarding “business hours” or my personal schedule. Thoughts on whether to bring this up or continue to be a team player until I burn out and pay off my student loans?

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?
