I have an offer from a tech startup for a fully remote position but I've only been at the job I'm at now for three months. Am I burning my bridges indefinitely with the job I'm at now for bailing early? The commute is 1.5 hours EACH WAY and I am exhausted by the end of the week. Is there a way to let my boss know I'm leaving that's not going to cause shock and disgust?

I have gotten a verbal offer from Facebook, but I just had my phone screen interview with the hiring manager at Amazon yesterday. I want to reach out to the recruiter at Amazon and let them know what the timeline looks like. I would much rather have the Amazon job over the Facebook one. Thermo Fisher for Data Engineer in AWS and Python and Ameriprise as Lead Developer for Informatica Powercenter. Ameriprise is offering 50k more in my monthly salary than Thermo Fisher. My preference is to join in where I can grow and get a good learning for future career growth. Also, work life balance should be good in the organization.

I’m in this business to cure my inferiority complex. Making lots of money, working with fortune 500 clients and walking the streets of NYC with a suit, tie and briefcase makes me feel important and worthy.

I often wish I could be like my law school friends who either moved to small towns or have public sector or non profit jobs, wear sweaters and jeans to work and make far less than me, but are happy with their lives, feel a sense of meaning with their work and don’t need external validation.

Looking for advice fish fam. Deloitte vs EY-P. Same level - Manager/Director. EY-P pays $50k more for base and maybe $10 to $20k more as bonus. Currently at Deloitte. Is the extra $60-$70k worth giving up my network? Plan to stay in Consulting and hope to make SM/SD. I have a family and my wife is a homemaker. So money does matter.
