I have an upcoming final round interview for an M&A role and I’m considering reaching out to someone on the broader M&A team thru LinkedIn (who I’m not interviewing with) to get a sense of the team and culture. If I were to get the job, this would be a peer of mine. I’m also hoping this may help me gain insights for the final round. Any chance reaching out to someone on the side could hurt my candidacy? Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account.
