Hi fishes
I was supposed to have my Amazon Round 3 interview in the first week of May but the interviewer didn't join. My recruiter didn't reply for a few days and then rescheduled it.
Even in this rescheduled interview, my interviewer didn't join. This time my recruiter joined and said she'll reschedule my interview.
She still hasn't done that even after a follow up.
Is this common? Is this some kind of patience test?
I have no clue but I'm really frustrated at this point.
Please suggest

Depends on the interviewer. From my perspective, I greatly prioritize personality/culture fit. You can generally teach someone how to do a job - much harder to teach someone to be a good teammate, have a positive attitude, etc.
It’s probably because they already have an internal person they want to move into the role.
Sadly this has happened to me a few times. Such a waste of candidates’ time!
I’ve had the same experience, probably 4-5 final rounds before landing 3 offers at the same time. I do think it has more to do with connecting with your interviewer, assuming you already know exactly what the role is about, have researched the company extensively and can articulate how your skills are transferable.
I was in the same position a few years back. It’s definitely a combination of being liked by and connecting with your interviewer (who you will likely be directly working with every day) but also having relevant skills to perform the job.
Interviewing is a tricky situation, but eventually you’ll find the right firm and group. Good luck!
Thanks. I've been focusing on Wells Fargo in the analytics and finance group. Since i have accounting experience and onboarding financial data. It's interesting because I see people make more than I do who didn't perform as well. So trying to benchmark and navigate interviewing.
I agree that personality goes a long way in interviews. Try to ask them questions and get them to talk about themselves.
I'd say 50-50. I was rejected once because one of the applicants was more friendly and had a way with words. I was also rejected several times because a lot of applicants are more qualified. Just keep applying. Best of luck!
Speaking from experience here. Clicking with the interviewer can really get you far. I once applied to a job where the other candidates had higher credentials than I did, but what did me in was my attitude towards work and my willingness to learn. You have to have the passion for it.
Thank you. I tried at first with articulating being highly competent but never got clear feedback. This has been helpful
I know it’s discouraging but you have to keep going. All it takes is one. When I finally got the offers I realized the ones I didn’t get would not have been as good of a fit for me. Good luck!
