Book the hotel and cancel it. You still get the credit.
Been there done that. Does not work with Amex platinum, or may be does not work any longer. I had to cancel my trip and they took back the credit. Finally taking a trip in December.
If you can’t decide on a destination that seems worthwhile, I would just check into a hotel in your city, get drinks at the bar, order room service and eat in bed, and maybe go to the spa. No stressful travel involved and sometimes it’s just so nice to have a clean room you don’t have to take care of yourself. Get a late checkout and enjoy.

I’ve already been twice otherwise would, hands down!
Newport RI or go to Portsmouth NH or Burlington VT for microbrew tasting.
Toronto. Without a doubt. Hour and 20 minute flight from Boston. NBA. NHL. MLS. CFL. still going on. Loads of restaurants. And if you didn’t know. It is larger in population than Chicago.
I’d love to find somewhere in New England where it seems like this is worth using but last time I checked there wasn’t much

Right… that’s my overall feeling too so I’m debating heading down more south and making a weekend trip out of it
Could fly down to Miami or maybe Charleston, Nashville, Asheville depending on what you are looking for.
Yes, Asheville is beautiful this time of year! I consider New England to because their fall is so amazing! I might steer clear of anywhere too deep in the south near the ocean or the Gulf. Hurricane season doesn't end until November.
Stayed at the Wequassett resort on the Cape over the summer through this program: the resort is beautiful and the outdoor pools are heated (plus hot tub), so they stay open through November.
Savannah GA is good for a weekend.
Puerto Rico used to be a direct flight from Boston, not sure now.
How does this credit work…? Can we just apply it to any hotel or do we have to book through a portal ?
And has to be a specific class of hotel
I stayed at the Thompson in Savannah and they were amazing. They have two or three in NYC, including one with views of Central Park. The leaves are just starting to change too
It's a little far from downtown but the walk along the water to River Street is great. Also there's a free bus that stops at the hotel to shuttle you into town. It's a great spot, all food options are great and the view from the rooftop bar is nice during sunset
If you’re in BOS this time of year you could head further NE and do some leaf peepin
Come to TX 🤠 San Antonio River walk 😂
Great Barrington, MA or Burlington, VT. Toronto, DC
Virginia Beach VA
Lovely in Charleston SC right now.
