With rent being out of control to live centrally in London, I wanted to ask what % of your salary are you paying as rent + bills in London?
Moving to london really soon and trying to figure out where to stay and how much to pay.
Always been told rent should be around 30% of income, but that seems impossible to achieve in London.

General AI… possible in our lifetimes or total BS? Working my way through Turing’s Imitation Game paper which while I realize is dated, has me genuinely wondering if I’m in the wrong career given how much free time I spend thinking on this topic.
Has anyone here franchised boba shops or is familiar with the process? Saw a post on a local Facebook group from a guy who owns multiple ShareTeas in my city (top 5 in US by population). Dude must be printing money.
I checked ShareTea and iirc that want/require $300k in startup costs + $100k in liquid capital. I'm guessing that means at least $100k cash and up to $300k in business loans if you don't have more cash. Sounds super expensive but every ShareTea I've been to in my city does well

Has anyone sought therapy at a university and can talk about their experience? I’ve tried therapy twice and each time was awful. Currently a grad student and wondering if I should try to make use of the therapy resources on campus but part of me is averse to going through it all again. Would be helpful to know what to expect based on other people’s experiences

Does anyone feel like the work they are doing isn’t what the company portrayed during recruitment? I went into cyber and thought the work would be a little technical with project management. Hey fishes, I’ve received an offer from CTS, how much time do I have in hand to accept/reject the offer?

Have recently started learning Azure DE through videos (purchased Udemy course - Amit Navgire). But unable to understand much. Even if I am able to understand, just forget it the very next day (like steps to create linked service to storage or Data Lake account, etc..)
What should I do to understand it in much better way ?

I currently work for Public Housing. I started off as an Administration Assistant and got moved into a Rental technician role within 4 months. My manager said i would need to go through the interview process to negotiate more. I went from $20 to 22.25. The rental position pay is between $22-$29 per hour. I have a Bachelors in Human Services and Masters in Public and Nonprofit Administration. How much should I negotiate?
Anyone else lose all faith in companies keeping your data safe? I just go under the assumption now (even with this app) that anything I put online will eventually be public. Cynical or realistic?

Net worth of 600k in a LCOL city. About to turn 30. Really not liking my job, but trying to figure out if I exit into a 250k job if it’s realistic to be able to get to 5M by 50. For context, thinking about a couple kids in a few years with my spouse. Is this realistic?
Hey everyone — I’m trying to see if I’m spending too much on buying a home. I make $200-250k, and am considering buying a condo in the $800-850k range. I am in an HCOL city (NYC/DC/SF). Is that way too high?? With the new interest rates, it does help a lot in terms of affording something higher.
Thoughts on this buy and hold?
I read through the bowl and online articles, so to confirm my understanding about back door roths: 1) You don’t want pre tax traditional IRA money (from old 401ks and the like) because they would mess up your pro rata percentage. Instead, you should send those dollars to your current 401k. 2) Post-tax traditional IRA contributions are reclassified to pre-tax traditional IRA contributions if you claim a tax deduction on them. Are these right?
