I'm in the exact same boat. I was all for it until yesterday when I saw a post on Facebook from an eye doctor warning people NOT to view it, even with the glasses. Now I'm sort of worried and not sure if it's worth the risk.
Take the glasses and look straight ahead. If you can still see something, they aren't strong enough. If you don't see anything except the sun, then you're protected.

The ground and the sky had sick an unusual appearance for a little while, and shadows were super sharp. I got to see the diamond ring, though!
Great point. I have also heard that the glasses some are selling do not protect your eyes. I’ll be outside, with my phone, standing away from the solar eclipse and videoing it at the same time.
I viewed the last one through a puddle reflection. My completely black glasses are probably safer.
I am not at work today, have glasses but am not watching. I have the same concerns.
