So GH was PwC’s federal practice that got carved out 2-ish years ago. I see they’re branching out into the IT space but would imagine they’re still building their footprint, culture, and brand. I would recommend you go with Deloitte as it’s the largest of the Big 4 by headcount and revenue, which will serve you well later on in life.
That said, D is a machine so don’t expect to be coddled as you adjust to the new company’s way of life. Pick your battles, pick your “friends” and pick the stories you tell about yourself during performance season.
Don’t sweat the title - you’re more likely to be successful that way because you can exceed your peers. When you join us the PY is March to March - so your goal is to tell your coach and Project managers to aggressively support you for a promotion in PY 22 (March 21 to March 22 and takes effect in sept 22)
Thanks. Will def keep this in mind!! On a side note, doesnt GPS have a different performance cycle?
Deloitte
Deloitte
Ehhh idk maybe. My hours could just be my team/engagement but I’m pretty sure a lot of engagements are understaffed.
Decline both and apply to KPMG 🤩❤👌💯🤝💪🎉
Chief
E3 - you’ve shown your card in this negotiation. We are willing to offer you a great discount price at $50k! Of course, you still have to pay $5k to start.
Deloitte has more name recognition and probably better clients, support, and networking
Bro. Deloitte over guidehouse any day.
As much as it pains me to say this. Take Deloitte
For 5 YOE, pay is low. Negotiate the offer.
This is federal ya’ll. 40 hour weeks, no travel, multi year engagements and highly likely DC based.
Can’t compare that to someone who lives in NY or SF, travels 4 days a week, and works long hours. Recruiting pipelines are often different as well
I will say tech roles can pay very well in Fed.... many roles require US citizenship so no offshore competition. It’s a great place to make $150k+ as a passable developer, often with low demands
Damn guidehouse lowballed you, would’ve said 130k for senior, but I’m just greedy 🤷🏿♂️
D to optimize on brand name, GH to optimize in lifestyle
What is this GH lifestyle you speak of? I have zero wlb
Can't go wrong with choosing Harvard...
Deloitte. Even if you hate it, it will lead to other opportunities.
5 YOE = C at Deloitte? Sorry not helping answer your question but just curious
If you start your career with Deloitte, you will start as analyst, become C in 2 years, and become SC in 2-4 years after becoming C. So 5 years would
Put you at c/SC
Deloitte does discount unless you are from big 4 / top boutique brand or IB (MBBs seldom come to deloitte).
Not knowing anything else about your decision criteria, isn’t everyone going to say Deloitte? It’s a better brand and slightly more $
Very good point
Doesn’t hurt to play them against each other.
Is Deloitte GPS?
No brainer if it isn’t, but still a better firm with much stronger tech chops than GH if it is...
I’d talk to people and learn more. Fed seems to be more likely to hire for projects so the answers might be very relevant to what you’ll be doing
Deloitte. GH is a dumpster fire
How many YoE and in what field OP?
I have about 5yoe in IT field
What’s your current firm
