Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

If there isn’t any contractual obligation for them giving you the money for education, say you have stay with the company at least X years after the education then I would take that other job and don’t look back.
I don’t care if these companies paid for your entire grad, phd, doctorate, etc. these companies can fire you on a whim’s notice.
In today’s market you have to look out for yourself. I hate to say that as I’m a Gen Xer but I’ve seen and experienced too much.
NO company rewards loyalty. It doesn’t exist.
Take the job. Full stop. Your loyalty is a lovely trait outside of work. But a liability in the workplace. Thank them before you leave and don’t look back. Best wishes on your new job!
I’ve already accepted. Planning on giving notice one week before I start , as I know I will be escorted out of the office immediately after I do so. So, one week vacation .
I wouldn’t feel guilty about it. I believe there’s a tax write off to the company for paying for your education. If it really bothers you, keep checking their company website and when the position you wanted opens up, you can apply for it.
Also, look at it this way: you’re gaining valuable experience at the new employer. If you do decide to go back to the old company they will benefit from your added experience. In the meantime, you need to pay your bills and do your life.
You stayed the whole time while getting your degree. That is also their incentive on retention. They knew you likely would not leave while getting a degree. You did your time. You’re good. Move on and get paid.
As long as you've fulfilled your commitment required to receive the education reimbursement, you're good to go. No regrets.
As long as there isn't a clause that says you have to stay for X amount of years after it's paid for go for it. Most companies that do pay or reimburse will require you to pay the money back if you leave before the set time after they pay. Id say check that. You don't want them to withhold your last check and put it towards that.
The were a vessel to propel you journey forward…. Don’t let an assumption of loyalty when they are forcing you to look elsewhere hold you back from your destiny!!!
How long were you with your employer?
I would say after that length of time, it's okay to leave since there isn't an opp. currently for you to level up.
You can still leave and hopefully not burn any bridges.
Your trajectory is up to you.
Set yourself free and set yourself up for success - leave.
