Is fishbowl only available on the US App Store?
Please if you can help and advise?
I have just joined Amazon Retail as sr Program Manager a month ago. I miss banking/technology now. I have heard that I can move teams. I know it’s too early so I don’t know how to approach this situation and potential HMs. Reaching out to this community to seek help if you have similar roles for which you (or your network) is hiring, would you be able to help? It’s better to be in a relevant role and be best than performing poor in current role. Please help.

I don’t understand these prestige questions, unless you use others’ opinions to determine your success. I expect the answers to center around “there’s MBB, tier 2, boutique, and the other guys”. I’d classify both Slalom & Accenture to be other guys. Not big enough in brand to be tier 1/2 and not small and focused enough to be boutique. Does this help at all?
They aren’t known for strategy. They don’t have the right leaders to develop a strong strategy consulting practice. You’ll be disappointed with the projects they get.
Not accurate today. Overall Slalom doesn’t do too much MBB-type strategy but excels and competes successfully in other areas that include strategy work, for example CX, product strategy, Supply Chain, org design, etc. More than 3k consultants out of 14k are aligned to business advisory services.
For these large companies, it depends on the team. For example, Accenture is 700k people, I’m sure some teams are more “prestigious” than others.
I wouldn’t worry too much about prestige. At this point, you’re a manager and have good experiences to jump around and have your resume noticed.
Staff aug reputation is relevant on the tech side of the biz. Technical interviews were not an indication of the type of work that I ended up doing. Website was not accurate either. If I had a chance to change one thing in their recruitment process, I would have asked for examples of what I would be doing upon joining. It’s not all staff aug but teams are overstaffed for WLB. The overstaffing requires you to be one of the team favorites to get meaningful work.
There aren’t any surprises when it comes to standard items like initial comp, bonus payout potential, travel, or benefits. Big potential variance in the substance of work you might do and thus progression/longer term comp. It’s not universal among markets or even teams. A decent number of people get promoted at a pretty good pace, the favorites. Just make sure to be in the favorite group in your practice if you join. Occasional group travel might be referring to some of the enjoyable events like retreats or office events, more like perks. On the upside of being staff aug, if you are feeling burnt out then it could be a good spot to coast for a year or two.
Can you move at Accenture? Or try a tech company to do strategy.
Re-read the post & what I wrote. 😬
How’s the bonus at #Slalom?
D+ have variable comp ranges MUCH higher than that. Most consultants see bonuses anywhere from 8 to 12% on average.
