Not a good sign, but definitely worth a call to the recruiter to understand exactly what’s going on. You need information to make sure you do what’s best for you and yours. Ghosting is lame

Hmmm. Well we are in mid Sept., when is the last time you spoke with them? Either they didn't sell the job, or the client wasn't in board. Neither is a good sign.
Ditto if they haven't been in communication with you. What do they say when you call?
On a separate note, if you interviewed with the client before being officially hired, what is stopping you from reaching out directly to the client and getting a job there? You can do the same work, the client could pay less having you directly on staff, and you could potentially make more. Just cut out the middle man?
