I interviewed for a job for managing the installation of nurse calls. That was three weeks ago. Last week I see three positions for the same job description. When I look at all 3 they are the same position I applied for. My application is still under review. I emailed the recruiter early last week if I was still in the running for the position but it’s been a week and I haven’t heard from them.

This isn’t a 3rd part trying to get someone placed. This is directly with the company.

I’ve decided to leave a toxic work environment and have begun applying elsewhere. It’s now very difficult to motivate myself at work. Any advice for how to survive until I have an offer in hand?

I work with quite a few oldheads in my department, I’d like to know how to convince the higher-ups that we need to evolve our strategies to bring us in line with best current practices. However, I don’t want to act out of line or be disrespectful since this is my first role and I have less than a year here.

So I have an offer pending but I still have 2 more interviews left for another role that I would like, on Monday. I need to get back to the recruiter by tomorrow on the offer. How bad would it be to accept and then renege later? Even if the second role offers me a position, it would be at least another week at earliest and I can’t delay the first offer any longer.

Three days later recruiter wants to give me a call and “give an update”. Schedules it after 2 days. This morning cancels last minute as they are having “internal discussions”. Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.
