I just got a verbal offer at Deloitte (I posted the other week, I’m a boomerang). When they asked my salary I said $120K (GPS HC SC, DC, no grad degree). Does that seem reasonable? Can I expect a signing bonus? When I started last time I was very clueless and I want to do better this time!

120k base for an SC is very low, even for GPS. I’d ask for 150k at least (might not get that, but possible). Yes you should expect a signing bonus, and negotiate for one if it’s not offered.
I came in at 144k as an experienced hire GPS SC
120k is not low. I was at Deloitte before and 120k was avg. salary for SC in GPS. I think you can definitely ask for 130k + signing bonus

They’re not going to rescind your offer for asking for 150k, I don’t really see the harm in it. You’re negotiating
Even though you asked for 120, it’s not too late to ask for 140 or 150 when they give you the written offer. Just say you did more research and believe that’s the market rate
seems low for an external senior salary (seems more on the line of an internal promote senior salary). but not as familiar with this group so could be wrong
You screwed up. Never give the first salary number. Next time make them give you an offer first.

Say your expectation is the market price for the role, and that you'd like to understand what total comp look like at their firm so you can compare versus your current role
That’s even worse, you basically gave them your BATNA, in California it’s illegal for the employer to ask previous salary..
For reference I just left Accenture on the 8th joined Deloitte on the 11th. Came in as a SC. GPS HST and negotiated to 144k. No Masters but am enrolled in an MBA set to begin in the fall.

I think all these big4 salary negotiations are so odd. I’m very lucky to have only worked places where there isn’t really any band except in extraordinary cases. Sal is the sal for the role across the country
