Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Firm? I’m so sorry. You will land on your feet.
OP probably works in Blockchain Web3 consulting or something. Unless we get more details then that's what we can assume
I am sorry. It is a bad feeling to have, but things will get better. Just know sometimes things happened were not your fault.
Where one door closes... Probably doesn't feel like it now, but congrats. Polishing up interview skills is the fastest way to raise your pay. And now you're forced to do it. Just when you do get your first new offer, don't stop interviewing
Better times are ahead my friend. Take some time off and take care of yourself. You'll be up and running in no time. There's no less shortage for skilled labor.
Things that your next employer would want to know:
1. Why your current employer thought you were expendable.
Things that you can do to stay on top in your next interview:
1. Learn your next employer's staffing requirements and figure out how best you can help them alleviate their work troubles and make the company look good.
Best to be away from a company that does not see your value.
Good luck! Do update us.. Cheers!
