I'm in my second year working at a boutique law firm. I like everyone I work with on a personal level, but I'm just not motivated to do the work. And billing hours, despite my firm's low requirement, is the bane of my existence.
Is this normal? Is this covid-brain? Is this just the wrong firm? Is private work not for me? Am I still going through the learning curve of being a lawyer? Am I not meant to do law? I have an art business passion project that I wish I could spend more time on.
Any consulting internships for fall 2022 remote?

Any tips on applying for a UX Designer/Researcher role at Google (UK) without a referral? Would really appreciate any help!
If anyone is willing to have a chat and then give a referral would be amazing. Happy to give you a walk through my experience and interest in applying for the role.

Yes. Worst case, you're not well enough to work, and your employer should know you may not be available.
You could, but there is literally zero harm. A little courtesy here isn’t a bad thing. The breakthroughs we’ve seen have been largely very mild, but some were still laid up for a few days. We don’t demand to know but the voluntarily disclosure was nice - allowed me to balance deadlines with resource availability.
If you’re working remote and will not be physically in the same location as anyone from your work for the quarantine period, no need to tell anyone.
I believe, unless you had contact with other employees, that under HPPA rules you do not need to disclose you COVID status to your employer.
This is true, I did not disclose, nor do I intend to
Are you 100% remote? If so, then there's technically no need to tell them. Of course, it also depends on how ill you feel. If you think you're able to push through, cool. But if it hits you hard and you feel like you're going to need some rest, obviously you'll want to let them know.
If you are 100% remote, I don’t think you need to tell unless you feel sick / it impacts your ability to work. What difference does it make to them?
You don't have to tell them if you're 100% remote...if there's a chance of coming into the office, interacting with other employees etc, then yes - it's your responsibility to tell them IMO
So sorryy! But if they are understanding they might be a bit easier on you. I know when I was sick I couldn't keep up with work so I had to let my manager know
True! But they can also fire you if you aren't actually getting your stuff done. If you are so sick that you can't, it might be worth it to say something.
Sorry :(
Sorry to hear you caught the virus, mate. If you're 100% remote, then no need to disclose it. If you feel you will be unwell and need time to recover, there's benefit in disclosing
Ughh so sorry. I would report it so you can get some time to recoop.
