Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. I highly recommend negotiating a VP title before signing anything. You’ll have more upside on bonuses. And getting a promotion will be an uphill battle, especially in your first year. I doubt you’ll get promoted in your first year, even if they tell you you will verbally. It’s gotta be in writing, and they will for sure not put that in writing. If they really want you they’ll give you the title.
I have 5.5 YOE (2 as a true PM but all in fin services). No competing offers yet as this process was expedited and I wasn’t expecting to be at this point already, but I’m in a few other processes. I’ve already briefly mentioned to the hiring manager and emphasized to the recruiter after that final rd interview that I want VP.
Im in the same boat. Fight for the VP title. I did (after getting a senior associate offer) and i ended up getting the VP title. Stay persistent.
In a surprising turn of events they didn’t give me either offer. I think I may have been too aggressive with negotiating for VP. Glad it worked out for you though
