I know this varies case-by-case, but on average how long do ppl spend billing for client status reports when summarizing voluminous medical records? For context, I do med mal defense and there are times when I have to analyze 3000-5000+ pages of medical records. Is 10-15 hrs reasonable? When it’s an issue I’m familiar with, I can get them done quicker but I always want to err on the side of accuracy when it comes to reporting.

I am defending an eviction for a client who has given possession of the property (as of Nov. 30). Plaintiff’s complaint has one claim – possession. They did request relief for attorney’s fees. NJT/Final Hearing commenced 10/27, was only 30 min and was therefore continued to 12/20. Plaintiff had counsel at that time but they are no longer represented.  I want to file something notifying Court that Plaintiff claim is now moot, making sure that judgment is not entered that hurts (cont'd)..

How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work.
