I left EY last year and is now considering rolling over my 401k balance left in the EY plan to my IRA. Just realized that my vested balance was lower than the balance Fidelity has been showing (cont.)

That $4k special investment vests fully after 4 years from when it was contributed in your account. I left EY about 6 months after it hit and thus have almost $3.5k of it unvested, however, always knew this and what my fully vested portion was regardless of what the homepage says. Never bothered rolling it because the fund I am in had great returns over the past 2 years since leaving

like

I think you are fully vested in most source except for the onetime contribution from EY

like

You are entitled to 100% of your contribution and you will only receive the vested potion of the EY peice (which is a much smaller peice than yours).

like

It shows on Fidelity what your total combined balance is and what your vested balance is.

For me, it’ll be about less than $115. It was very little last year that I didn’t notice it.

Since I already left EY, do I only get my vested balance? It was confusing because Fidelity’s home page keeps showing I have a higher balance than the actual vested balance, and puts the vested balance in tiny fonts. Just curious about what’s the vesting period for the company match and the special $4k company contribution that I got at my 4th year anniversary. I always thought they were fully vested when I left but I guess I was wrong.

I don’t expect lens selection to be a major factor for me as I doubt I will carry multiple lenses - probably just one at a time. Any advice?
