You live in the Bay Area. Everything is too much.
Only 1600 for two people? Sounds the opposite: too low
Costco Kobe beef every night 🏆
I live in the Bay Area and am single. I spend $100 / week on groceries and another $100-$200 eating out. For two people that sounds reasonable to me.
That’s not bad, food wise.

If you’re asking, it probably is too high. But, seems like you eat well, 😁
Of your income, it’s fine.
For food in general, it’s a lot. I’d like to guess that most of that is eating out $? Try to cut down on those where you can.
If you’re not eating out at least once a week at a nice restaurant then yes. Otherwise not really costs me 150 a week on going out for food at least plus 100 or more for groceries as a single dude. Living is expensive
Is it like..Uber eats for every meal?
My parents live in the Bay Area and I’ve started helping them budget and they spend like $300 on groceries per month

Lol not worth the time to do the math. But EY3, you can’t get all of that daily, especially fresh veggies, and salmon “once in awhile” on $5/day/person in SF. Not a chance.
Depends. Who are you eating?
Is that just groceries, or eating out too?

That’s not too bad then
I’m single and spend way moew
$1.6k is only about 6% of your pre-tax monthly income which is good when you look at it that way. As long as your investing and saving then enjoy life, food is one of the best parts!
Try a month where you plan out your meals and only buy the groceries you need to limit waste. And no eating out. See what you actually need to survive and sustain yourself. And then you can take on a little extra for eating out.
A month 😬 Try for a week and model it out from there… yes I love my food too much to commit to a month long science project lol. Might lose 10 pounds tho 🤔😂
Sounds ok. Family of 4, have a teen who eats for 2 people, and I spend around 500 a week, without going out.
Oh yes, we have a yanger child who has lactose intolerance, have to buy more expensive products. And every one loves meat and vegetables. No junk food.
As a parent if 3, I’m not looking forward to the teenage years.
I spend 2k on myself a month lol

That is close $18 for meal of two. I think it’s reasonable assuming that number includes groceries.
