I love legal research and case prep, but I can’t do doc review forever. I feel like I’ve plateaued. I don’t want to be a lawyer, but I do want more strategic or client-facing work. For those of you who grew beyond traditional paralegal tasks, how did you make that leap?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Can I reject project in client interview in CGI if I am not okay with roles and responsibilities said by client or it will lead to escalation?

Is it common to work on client location for EY India? Or do we have a special office for EY India employees?
I have been told that you will be on EY payroll and you will be working at client location.
This isn't kind of 3rd party payroll right?
Please confirm and throw some light on it?

Hi, Im interested to know the visa process for Australia on-site opportunity. I have been asked for CV before visa initiation. If anybody is aware of the process, could you please help me understanding the steps of visa process in TCS?
Will the visa be initiated by the management or by employee?

I had a HR Discussion after clearing 2 HCL rounds and 2 client interviews . HR is not considering moving above 40% hike no matter whatever I say to justify, the Discussion was like talking to a wall . Any suggestions to get another 10-15% more (first offer)? Will HR reject me stating this reason in HCL ?? FYI- Client and the project team wants to take him in as per their feedback to me and I feel i am the right person for the role too .. 9 years exp -Infra storage domain .

Has anyone dealt with a lack of praise from attorneys? I'm not someone who needs to hear "good job" all the time, but we just got a huge deal closed that I worked really hard on and had a lot of overtime. I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.
