I need career advice. For a year I’ve worked within a highly specialized national group. I do enjoy the work , but I don’t feel as if I’m thriving. I was personally very happy with the raise (18%) and bonus (7%) I received after 3 months. Again I’m not feeling as if I’m adding value to this group. I was recruited by Deloitte to go over do work that I’ve done before I know I’d thrive in. A friend at the irs sent over job that the salary looked actually good and work interesting. Spent 5 years at the same company. Then these past 5 years I’ve had 5 different jobs. I’m just unsure on what to do I’ve thought maybe I stick it out in this group until I receive a poor review then pull trigger jump 🤷‍♀️

Personally I wonder why needing to thrive in the work place. Should we not work, to support the life we want outside of work? Work where it supports our hobbies, dreams, etc.

Working as CAL Manager with Accenture S&C India. Offered ~GBP 76.5K (fixed plus flexi) at Manager Grade by Deloitte London.

Prior to Accenture, I have already served as S&O Manager with Deloitte India for ~1.5 yrs - so this would be my second stint with Deloitte as Manager "again".

2 questions:
1. Should I ask for Senior Mgr (AD) grade - to which they have already said NO
2. Is GBP 76.5K sitting at the lower end of M grade in Deloitte UK? What should be a good expectation for the role

Hello recruiters, happy Monday!

I want to know why recruiters ask me in an interview if I am looking at other opportunities, or if I am interviewing at other companies. If I say yes they will ask at what stage I am.

I just want to know the reason behind it and if there is a right answer to this question!

How much of a pay cut are you willing to take to (hopefully) re-find purpose in your job?

My Context: work in tech, company has HQ in the Bay but I live in Canada. Single, no kids, 1 mortgage, no debts.

TC: ~200k USD (60% base / 40% equity). I put very low effort, completely disengaged and unmotivated, with anxiety building up. Don’t like the company, but very few companies can match where I live

I’m being offered ~110k to work more, better title, fun project and company
