I need help prioritizing the cpa exam over my relationship. I always put off studying to spend time with my boyfriend. How can I fix this? Serious advice only please!

Just clap some cheeks and get back to studying

like

Just make it clap, bounce up and down til your tired then hit the books.

wish this guy was my manager

like

You could get to work early and study then or stay later a few hours and study then. That way you're not tempted to hangout instead of studying.

like

Agreed with EY1. Go to work at 6/7 every weekday and get a couple hours of studying in in a quiet space. Then you can do whatever you want after work

like

I passed all on my first try. Here's hard truth: you won't be successful unless you put your foot down and prioritize studying over spending time with them. Just do it.

like

Also try and remember this is a temporary but necessary sacrifice for your career. Your SO should support that and encourage you to be studying as well. Plus the sooner you buckle down and get it done the sooner you have real free time to spend with them and you won't have it hanging over your head.

Go into consulting and don't worry about it

Your SO should realize what the above poster said. If not find a new SO. Nothing to it but to do it

Has anyone actually found love at work? My best friend started at a new company 6 months ago and she just took an offer somewhere else because she and her senior manager fell for each other. After 6 months she knew it was worth leaving her job for! Has anyone here completed their divorce without lawyers? It’s amicable between both of us and we are agreeing of the separation of assets. Do I still need to get a lawyer or can I do this on my own?

Stupid question but getting a divorce now and having a hard time figuring out what to do with sentimental things such as wedding pictures, travel pics, ornaments we bought together, etc. What did you do? Relationship was over 12 years and don’t know what to do. Should I jus pretend that those 12 years never happened or she was not there?

Divorce is amicable and based on growing apart rather than bc of cheating or fighting or anything else..

any recommendations for divorce attorney in Chicago/ Naperville/western suburbs?

I’m (early30s) about 8 months into a relationship with a 40m. Things are wonderful in every aspect, but he is absolutely atrocious with his finances. I felt it becoming an issue about two months ago. He forgets about auto payments and just generally doesn’t care. I sat down with him and looked at everything and even after talking it out he still continues to stress and it’s now causing me stress. I had a final discussion with him today about it and he went on abt how love isn’t enough for me…

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

Hi everyone, would like to know the Bowl's thoughts on this:
I am a recent MBA graduate who has joined one of the cloud computing firms. It's all good. Loving the new job. But I would eventually want to make a move to Google. I am a project manager and would like to know the opportunities at Google for me in the future. What skills should I have? What roles should I look out for and when would it be best to switch?

Considering pivoting into tech. Currently considering Project Management or Presales tech. I understand the general roles of each. Presales seem to make more than PM, so I am leaning towards presales. Curious if any PMs considered presales and why you decided to do Project management instead

Why did the auditor cross the road?

No wonder PwC loses clients. We test 300 revenue samples on a subsidiary. KPMG audits the parent and literally does a revenue analytic. Not agreeing with KPMG but certainly hard to compete with that.
